Warehouse Dock Air Curtains: Why and How to Size Them

Open docks dump heat and pull dust. A curtain is a cut-off jet, not decoration.

Logistics doors sit open for hours. Without a curtain, the dock is freezing in winter and dusty in summer, and ventilation fights uncounted air through the opening. An air curtain cuts the stream across the door height — it does not heat the whole warehouse.

Size by opening width and height, jet velocity, water or electric, and a continuous curtain with no edge gaps. A weak unit on a tall door is wasted money. An oversized electric unit will not start without electrical capacity.

Coordinate with warehouse ventilation: makeup air so extract does not pull harder through the door than the curtain can block. Otherwise cold still runs along the floor.

Aurum Prodest supplies and installs air curtains with the site’s ventilation and heating. In-house ducts if water curtains need piping and fittings.
